A first issue for the Club de l’Auto; an open choice Rally associated to an exceptional event like the Christian Dior Centenary and the presence of a local Classic Cars Club.
This is the result of a long time team work.
Despite the rainy and cloudy weather the 48 crews of the “Paris Granville - Christian Dior Centenary” Rally coming from France, Jersey, England, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Switzerland have successfully participate in a sunshine minded atmosphere…
Friday morning, at 7:30 Mr Philippe Le Moult, Dior Couture Manager of Institutional Relations welcomed the cars owners at Paris Dior house Avenue Montaigne - cars being safely parked.
During the breakfast offered by Dior Couture at the prestigious Plaza Athénée Relay, the crews had time to converse and gather guesses like Valerie Paillet France 2 TV well known personality, our new member David MARTIN’s colleague.
At 9 am Princesse Hermine de Clermont Tonnerre, classic cars enthusiast, gave the start under the very appreciated motorcycles escort of Commandant Eric Verzèle.
Splendid and prestigious mechanics like… Tourer Vauxhall 30.98 Daymon of Melbourne, 1922 Amilcar, Stutz, Lagonda, Morris, Delahaye, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, MG, Hotchkiss, Triumph, BMW , Tourer Talbot, Railton, Stoewer, Packard, Delage, Ford, Nash, Alfa Roméo, Simca, Bentley, Peugeot, Mercedes, Austin Healey, Aston Martin, Cadillac Sedan, Porsche 912 from the 6o’s… runs smoothly toward the first mealtime stage in Pavillon de Gouffern à Silly.
After this gustative stop, crews runs again through Normandy to the municipality welcoming cocktail at the Herel Centre Nautique of Granville.

Once hotel accommodation done the dinner took place at « Le Phare » good sea food restaurant in the port area.
Mr Philippe LE MOULT handed over personally to every one a DIOR perfume as a welcome gift.
Saturday morning for journey through Mont Saint Michel costal road, with a photo souvenir stop at the South Grouin, finishing at the « Moulin de Jean » in Cuves and « l’Auberge du Moulin » in Brouains for a high quality lunch.
Back to Granville for Christian Dior Museum inaugural ceremony at Villa les Rhumbs by Mr Marc VERDIER Lord-mayor of Granville, the Municipality and association members from « Présence Christian Dior » followed by a cocktail inside the paradisiacal gardens of the Villa.
Diner at the end of the day the day in the Auberge du Mesnil-Rogues.
Catherine et André ARINO and their barrel organ plus the Champagne Moët et Chandon was a nice aperitif entertainment.
Popular old songs, Christiane Dibouës birthday, Frédéric, Rousseau song dedicated to Club de l’Auto… and the delicious chimney cooked lamb leg accompanied the nice ambiance.

Jean-Paul TESNIERES, president of A.V.A organized for the Sunday morning a trip in the bay of Sienne area. In La Baleine a shopping stop for Andouille and ham… and a nice aperitif at the Equilly Manor, Mme & Mr Huline beautiful property.
The lunch was organized at Cécile & André ARINO home : La Charpenterie d’Equilly and with the A.V.A. support they offered a 3 stars service to 150 guests. Congratulation and thanks

The last event in « Villa la BEAUMONDERIE », lend by Mr Vincent LERICOLAIS new owner where Mr Alain DUVAL prepared a diner referring to Christian DIOR themes.
We had a dance demonstration by Mademoiselle Geneviève de MARCY former model of Monsieur Christian Dior.
MARC de BRIANSON trophy had ben entrust to René VERBIEST from Belgium who never miss a Club de l’Auto Rally.
The 13th first Elegence Concourse graduate received their prices from Mr Philippe LE MOULT and Mrs Jocelyne SAUVEGRAIN
Of course few mechanical incidents have been faced and solved…
An oil goose gap for the Stutz , a carburettor fissure for the Stoewer Arkona, and a surprising rear suspension for Christian Thermann Mercedes…
Marie France et Bernard Dortomb can be very proud of their implication result…
And many thanks also to La Maison Dior, particularly for the Concourse Winners rewards, the Moet et Chandon brilliant contribution… and his representative Mr Jean Berchon suggesting for the next « Paris-Champagne » in spring 2006 a stop at the Abbaye d’Hautvillers the Champagne foundation site where are Dom Ruinart and Dom Perignon rests.
